Beach Week 2010

For the past several years we have been fortunate enough to be able to spend an entire week at the beach. Typically we go to Edisto, but we changed it up a little this year and went to North Myrtle Beach. We all had a blast!! Harrison and I found a lot of shark's teeth...with a lot of help from Ellie! That girl is a professional shark's tooth finder. Maddie and Ellie swam their little hearts out, played in the sand, and made new friends on the beach. Alex and Harrison got in a good bit of golf time. I was amazed they were able to endure the heat!

We made it to a minor league baseball game one night and enjoyed some post game fireworks. We tailgated prior to the game and got some funny looks from people. We needed to show these folks what tailgating is all about!

Of course, the week would not have been complete without some shopping. We hit up the outlets and boy did I find a lot of cute cute cute baby stuff. Baby Boy Gray's closet is starting to fill up with all these clothes I keep buying. I just can't help myself...

The typical nightly routine at the beach after the girls go to bed is a rousing game of cards. This year we were on a Nertz kick. Of course Harrison won every night, but I got pretty close to beating him a few times :)
All in all, it was a great week and we were so glad for the time we got to spend together as a family of 3 before the new addition arrives.

24 weeks!!

Can't believe we are over halfway! Here goes...

How far along: 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +13 pounds
Maternity clothes: Mostly, but I have some dresses and stretchy shirts I wear that are not maternity. All my pants are maternity now...love the elastic waist band.
Sleep: Mostly great. Did get woken up this morning at 5am by what felt like water polo practice in my belly :)
Best moment this week: Harrison and Maddie feeling some really strong kicks.
Movement: Lots and lots and lots. Still feels like baby is breach and a lot of the movement is coming from his fists.
Cravings: Blueberries, s'mores, and ice.
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: None. Possibly a few braxton hicks contractions here and there.
Belly Button in our out? In but the middle is starting to head outwards.
What I miss: Not much...except maybe being able to bend over easily.
What am I looking forward to? Meeting this little buddy!
Weekley Wisdom: Later dinner makes for late night up with heartburn.

Milestones: Cleaned out the closet in the office, which will be baby's room.

**Will add a picture when I get a chance to get Harrison to take one. The only recent ones I have of the belly are in a bikini...and well, frankly I will spare you all from having to see that!

Baby buys!

...so we have officially made our first baby purchases!!

Thanks to my coupon-wiz sister-in-law, Elizabeth, I got all of these diapers for a steal. She has been so awesome and keeps her eye out for diaper deals for us. I remember how quickly we went through these things with Madison, so it is nice to get ahead of the game.

These are a little more fun than the diapers (and no, the workout bench was not a baby purchase!)

I am quickly learning that cute little boy clothes and decorations are not nearly as easy to come by as the little girl versions are...but when you find them, they sure are cute!!

Harrison and I went on a date Saturday night to look at strollers. I think we may have found one that we both will end up liking to use. It has a coordinating car seat to make things a little easier. Funny how your ideas of a "date" change with the different phases of our lives :)

We are having so much fun anticipating and getting ready for this sweet baby boy. We have a follow up appointment tomorrow morning to see a few more things on ultrasound since the little wiggleworm was not cooperating last time. I love any excuse I can find to get a peek at him! He has been so busy lately, you can even see the movement from the outside...in fact he's flipping around right now as I type! :)

20 week survey

How far along: 20 weeks and 5 days
Total weight gain/loss: +10 pounds total
Maternity clothes: All the time. There's no going back now...they are wayyyy too comfortable!!
Sleep: Like a baby..in between the bathroom breaks.
Best moment this week: Finding out that the little wiggle worm is a BOY!!!
Movement: Lots and lots...and then some more. Can see my belly move from the outside now.
Cravings: Green grapes, blueberries, strawberries, and guacamole. Oh yeah, and chocolate. :)
Gender: BOY! (thinking of Harrison Bragan Gray, Jr. for the name)
Labor Signs: None, thank goodness.
Belly Button in our out? In, but starting to look funny.
What I miss: Not a thing. I actually love being pregnant (I will probably eat these words in a few months :) )
What am I looking forward to? Watching this little cutie grow. Oh and all the fun things that come with little boys!
Weekley Wisdom: Always know where the nearest bathroom is. Two little feet pushing on a full bladder can be very uncomfortable.
Milestones: We're halfway done!

Oh boy, oh boy...it's a boy!!

We are so excited to announce that baby Gray is a BOY!!! We are over-the-moon excited. We had our 20 week ultrasound on June 1st and loved getting to see the little peanut on the big screen. We asked the sonographer if she would tell Madison the gender first so Madison could tell us. It was such a special way to find out and Madison loved that she was the first one to know. He was all curled up and would not give us a clear look at some things so we have to go back in 2 weeks for follow-up. Oh darn, looks like we have to have another ultrasound to look at the little cutie :)

Later that night we had a cookout with our families to reveal the gender. We made everyone wait until dessert. Harrison and I baked a cake after our appointment and made the inside blue. We covered the outside with white icing and sprinkles and revealed the gender by cutting the cake. It was such a fun way to tell everyone. Everyone ate really fast to get to dessert and I am not surprised if they all had a little indigestion later that night! We were so excited to tell our families and everyone was thrilled with the news. This will be the first boy grandchild on both sides!
