First Fever
Bragan had his first fever yesterday at daycare (March 2, 2011) and had to get picked up by Daddy since I was in Greenville. He was not fussy at all during the day but last night he did not want to sleep in his bed. His temperature when I got him up this morning was 101.5F, so we called the doctor and headed in to get checked out. Turns out he has an ear infection in his left ear so we got some pain relief drops and headed home. I can tell he just is not himself since he is not too interested in eating :). I am so thankful that we made it through this far without any illnesses. I prayed everyday that I would not give him any germs from the PICU! It breaks my heart seeing my baby not feeling well.
Baby Food Bonanza!
So we have officially started solid foods and Bragan has been doing well with it. We did 1 week of rice cereal 2-3 times a day and then did oatmeal for 1 week 2-3 times per day. After he successfully competed those 2 weeks we moved on to the good stuff! We are introducing new foods every 2 days.
Here is our progress so far:
Sweet potatoes - He loved these!
Peas - Did not like them the 1st night, but ate them all the second night.
Squash - Enjoyed these, but appetite was not good these days because of an ear infection.
Apples - Loves these!
I thought it would be better this time around to make his baby food from scratch. Not only is it more economical, but this way I know exactly what goes into his food. I spent a few hours tonight steaming and pureeing sweet potatoes, carrots, and peas. I also pureed some avocados. The freezer is fully stocked. I am looking forward to letting him try all these new things and knowing I am feeding him wholesome delicious food with no preservatives or strange ingredients.
*We made a video of the first feedings and will post those later.

Head circumference 42 1/2 cm (76th %ile)
New tricks:
-You started laughing on January 25, 2011 and we have so much fun getting you to giggle!
-You found your feet on February 8, 2011 and you can't get enough of them! You always seem to hang around with your feet in your hands. Sometimes you get them awfully close to your mouth!
-We tried rice cereal on February 11, 2011 and were not too interested in eating it. You got better at it on the second try and now you are a champ at the solids!
-You still nurse/have a bottle 7 times a day
-You love love love to take a bath and Mommy usually ends up drenched by the end.
-You are sleeping through the night well, but that all changed when the doctor said to stop swaddling you. We have gotten back into good sleeping patterns using a sleep sack.

Over the river and through the woods...
...to Grandmother's house we go!
After all the snow melted we made our way to Atlanta, Georgia, to visit Harrison's grandmother or "Gigi" as we like to call her. This was Bragan's first time meeting his Gigi. It was such a fun and memorable visit. We ate, caught up with family, and played a few rounds of MadGab.

White (day after) Christmas
What a great Christmas gift...a beautiful blanket of snow! We had a blast playing in it. It was so much fun introducing Bragan to his first snow!

I think it is so funny looking at these pictures now...we thought this was a lot of snow! ...little did we know what was coming our way a few short weeks later!

It might have taken all the snow from the back yard, but they built a respectable snow man. I love that Maddie is wearing her dress shoes with her snow clothes. Always a classy little lady!

The Big Christmas Post
Christmas this year was FANTASTIC! We have so many wonderful blessings to be thankful for and we could not have had a more fun day. We celebrated Jesus' birthday and enjoyed a day FULL of family, food, and fun!

After opening presents at our house, we headed over to the Gray's to exchange gifts!
After we finished up at the Gray's, we all headed over to my parents' house to have Christmas dinner and exchange gifts. We are so blessed that our families get together on holidays. It is always a blast and our crowd continues to grow each year :)
